Pregnancy Massage

I trained in Pregnancy massage in 2010 and I have a wealth of experience, having often seen ladies through 2 or even 3 pregnancies and all the developments in between. Life is a journey and there is no bigger part of it than bringing new life into the world. This time can be wonderful for many but for most it can also be challenging. The body and the mind go through huge transformations with pregnancy and massage can be greatly beneficial and nurturing at a time when it is often most needed.

It is not advisable to have a massage during the first trimester but after that there is no limit to how often or how late into the pregnancy you can have treatments. I can even help at the end of the pregnancy to encourage the body to let go in a natural and non-invasive way, many women have found my techniques have helped their labor to get started.

Pregnancy

As with my other massage treatments, I tend to work in a slow and deliberate way, using pressure points and massage techniques to guide the body and mind into releasing and relaxing. Pregnancy massage is done from the side with cushions used to support the body- it is a very relaxing position. I usually also work with ladies sat in a chair for part of their treatment to allow better access to the upper back, neck and head.
